The latest Orange County LeTip meeting was a meeting filled with tax experts, jewelry, and testimonials.

Our first speaker was David Widerman an Orange County tax expert. David began his speech by speaking about small businesses and how they can receive a 35% discount on their taxes when they have under 25 employees and pay half their employees insurance. Not every small business owner knows this fact but it's one that everyone needs to know and can save a business quite a bit of money. David then mentioned that nonprofit organizations can still receive credit even if they post a loss. David then urged businesses of all sizes to keep good books. Keeping books clean and efficient can save time, money, and hassles with the IRS should they come looking for you. David also mentioned that Visa now reports to the IRS when you charge your card, every single time. The last thing David mentioned is how the IRS is now considering making every business get a 1099 form for tangible items and that if you oppose this you can register your opposition to it online. Does any business owner want to complete a 1099 each time they buy paper from Staples?
